We are looking for a skilled Machine Tool Builder and Integrator with the ability to perform self-directed equipment manufacturing, integration and optimization tasks.  Key responsibilities also include reading and interpreting engineering drawings, internal systems building and process development. Responsibilities:

  • Work from engineering drawings to fit and assemble parts to specifications indicated
  • Use established methods, procedures, and other assembly techniques as directed in the building of automation equipment
  • Consult with the design team to ensure parts will meet the needs of their function and recommend any changes required
  • Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators
  • Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, schematics, bills of materials, machine-tool build assembly drawings
  • Work in a team structured environment to manufacture and assemble custom automation solutions
  • Perform all tool room related tasks including machining, turning, grinding, measuring and fitting
  • Observe devises in operation, locate root cause problems, and develop solutions both short and long term
  • Perform machine adjustments and improvements as required
  • Manage job schedules and track purchased components
  • Help coordinate work being outsourced including fabricated and/or machined components
  • Examine existing customer equipment for retro fit and upgrade planning
  • Maintain and track shop inventory levels
  • React to emergency and short lead customer requirements
  • Support the Applications Group in cost estimating for service programs and build-to-print projects
  • Assist in other Service Group related activities as required and directed by the General Manager

 

Qualifications:

  • Certificate in Tool & Die, or equivalent
  • Excellent people skills and the ability to communicate at all levels
  • Experienced in all aspects of machining and machine repair
  • MIG and TIG welding experience is an asset
  • Proficient in blueprint reading with an emphasis on understanding GD&T
  • Superior troubleshooting and diagnostic skills in machinery and production processes
  • Good computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office tools
  • Comply with internal quality procedures and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
  • SolidWorks experience is an asset
  • Valid driver’s license and own transportation
  • Must be able to travel internationally (USA and Abroad) as well as customer sites to support installation and service
